Setsuko Hosomi grew up in Japan with an early interest in hair and beauty, trained in Tokyo and began her professional career there before moving to New York City. She had a very successful career in NYC salons freelancing as a hairdresser and makeup artist, doing fashion shots, press junkets and special events.

She now lives and works in Westchester County NY for the past two decades including working for Jean Claude Salon, a renowned beauty destination located in Scarsdale NY which she took over when Jean Claude retired years ago.

With many years of experience as a hairstylist, colorist and makeup artist, she regularly adds to this knowledge studying and becoming up-to-date with the latest techniques, products and contemporary trends.

The Scarsdale’s Palmer Avenue Hair & beauty salon now called “Setsuko at Jean Claude” has full-time staff who cater to adults, children hair and makeups.
